Get Net Metering Today

Net metering - send electricity generated from Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs) to the grid

Receive credits for the electricity you add to the grid

Net-metering allows you to generate your own power without the need of a battery bank to store excess power for use after sunset.

  • with a net-metered system you use the solar power you generate and any excess power goes onto the grid
  • for every kilowatt hour of power you export onto the grid you earn a credit allowing you to import a kilowatt hour of power from the grid
  • during the spring and summer you build up a large credit balance which will off-set your fall and winter consumption
  • if you generate as much power in a year as you consume, then the only charges you would receive from your Local Distribution Company would be the fixed portion of your electricity bill, the Distribution Service Charge and the Smart Metering Entity Charge
    • Earn credits for every Kilowatt of energy generated

Net-metered systems larger than 10 kW

There are additional up-front charges associated with the submission of Form B by an electrical engineer and the generation of a Capacity Impact Assessment by the Local Distribution Company. These additional charges total $10,000 or more, depending upon the LDC.

Please contact us for a cost estimate for systems up to 500kW in size.
